View From Camp

We camped fairly high on the mountain so we could get a jump on the crowds the next morning. This photo was taken looking down from above the tent shortly after a thuderstorm just missed us.
The Crossover

We took the Worm Flow Ridge route up the mountain. This is looking back as we crossed over to join up with the standard Monitor Ridge route. Pictured is fellow climber Sam Heather. A little below and behind him you can just make out one of our wands marking the route.

Adams Over The Shoulder

This is looking back at Work Flow Ridge with Mt Adams pictured in the distance. If you look very carefully directly below Mt Adam's summit on the ridge you may be able to make out a lone climber.
Taking A Break!

Here I am at a rest stop on the way to the summit sporting the lastest in mountaineering styles!

Final Approach

This is the final approach to the crater rim. If you look to the left of the approaching climber you will see a dotted black line. This is the line of climbers on the way up the mountain!
Summit

Here is the covented summit shot. This is fellow climber Sam and myself at the highest point on the crater rim.

We Forget Our Dress!

We chose to climb on Mother's Day. For some reason I can't explain it seems there is a tradition of climbing Mt St Helen in a dress on this day. We were caught off guard a couple of times when climbers ask us the very strange question, "Did you bring a dress?" Now we know! This is the crater rim full of well "dressed" climbers!
The Crater

This is looking across to the far side of the crater. Looking down into the crater was a very memorable experience. I can't imagine the power of the blast that did this!
